Two Laborers’ District Council Business Managers To Receive
Samuel Staten, Sr. Charitable Trust’s “Making A Difference” Award

The Samuel Staten, Sr. Charitable Trust, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization formerly known as the Laborers’ District Council Charity Fund, will hold its 18th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland, PA. The outing is being held in honor of James N. Harper, Jr., Business Manager of LIUNA Laborers’ Local #413 and Esteban Vera, Jr., Business Manager of LIUNA Laborers’ Local #57. Both will be presented with the Making A Difference Award at the evening banquet.

The Samuel Staten, Sr. Charitable Trust illustrates the power of organized labor to make a difference in our community. The Samuel Staten, Sr. Charitable Trust is named for its founder, Samuel Staten, Sr., former Business Manager of Laborers' Local 332 and Secretary Treasurer of the Laborers' District Council of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area and Vicinity. Mr. Staten, Sr. passed away in 2016. The charity continues Mr. Staten, Sr.'s legacy of charitable giving.
